Principal's Message
Robert W. Hathorn
Supervising Principal
Never has there been a better time to serve Wayne County High School and the Wayne County community as the principal of WCHS. I consider it an honor to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a longstanding history in academics, athletics, and the fine arts. The privilege of working with such a talented and dedicated faculty and staff, a tremendous student body, and a supportive network of parents and community members has propelled Wayne County High to new heights. This year, in particular, such collaborative efforts have resulted in Wayne County High School being rated “A” for the first time ever by the Mississippi Department of Education! We are proud to announce that our students and faculty have joined the ranks of the top schools in the state! We War Eagles are flying high, and we are looking forward to repeating our tremendous success in the future!
Students, you have demonstrated your determination to be the best, and I challenge each of you to continue to set goals and standards that are above those set by most high school students. Your time at WCHS is foundational to your future success and your ability to make a positive impact in the world.
I look forward to the challenges of tomorrow and, with that, I am excited about the future of our school district. Together we will continue to move forward and find new ways to achieve academic greatness, further instill and inspire War Eagle traditions, and create lasting high school memories.
“IT’S A GREAT DAY TO BE A WAR EAGLE!”
